BE CAREFUL OF THE ONE WHO KNOWS YOUR NAME

A middle-aged woman went to an apartment building and took the elevator to the twelfth floor. When she arrived at her destination, she rang the doorbell impatiently. The door opened slowly, almost mysteriously, and she was welcomed by the smell of incense and smoke. She entered and was greeted by a young woman in a long white robe who announced her presence by striking a huge gong. With this the young woman said, "Do you wish to see the WONDERFUL ONE - the All-knowing, All-powerful, Maharishi Narru?"

"Yeah," the woman said. "Tell Sheldon his mother is here."

Isn't it wonderful in this time of being thankful that when we try to tell everyone what our rich blessings have been, the Loving Father comes and simply wants to talk to us as He knows us...as His beloved child? That will quickly take away the flowery words and quickly thought up praises. This takes us directly to the heart of what it means to be alive in the love of God. For that we should be truly thankful.

Mid-Week Prayer
Holy Father, we come to You this day and ask that You call us by name. Do not let all the pretenses of our lives remove You from our presence, but by the power of Your Holy Spirit, make us alive for the world to see Your glory. In Your blessed name we pray. Amen.

This has been Rev. Jim Massey. Join me next week to hear about preparedness from the Apostle Peter.
